Intelligence science is an interdisciplinary subject that studies brain like intelligence and mind modeling. Through the combination of research methods of brain science, cognitive science and artificial intelligence, we conduct multi-level and systematic research on human intelligent behavior and mental activities, focusing on the general laws and key technologies of mental modeling, machine consciousness, environmental perception, collaborative cognition, memory mechanism and common sense construction, and develop a verification system of brain like intelligence. Mind refers to all human spiritual activities, including thinking, reasoning, memory, learning, emotion, decision-making, will, consciousness, etc. Mind computation is the computing of psychological symbols and the information processing process of the brain. The computability of mind is the bridge and link between human spiritual activities and artificial system simulation.

The rise of Intelligence Science reflects the natural needs of scientific development. In 2002, we proposed a new field of Intelligence Science cross research and launched an Intelligence Science Website. In 2006, Tsinghua University Press published the monograph "Intelligent Science". In 2010, the world academic press launched the Intelligence Science Series. In 2011, Scientific Research Press published the International Journal of Intelligence Science. In 2013, the IJCAI Workshop on intelligence science was held in Beijing. In 2016, the first International Conference on Intelligence Science was successfully held in Chengdu. The second International Conference on Intelligence Science was held in Shanghai in 2017. The Third International Conference on Intelligent Science was held in Beijing in 2018. In 2020, the Fourth International Conference on Intelligence Science was organized by the Indian Durgarpur National Institute of Technology and the CAAI Intelligence Science Technical Committee (Preparatory). The IFIP International Conference on Intelligent Information Processing has been held for 12 conferences. 

Driven by social needs, 155 Colleges and Universities in China have successively established secondary disciplines of "Intelligence Science and Technology".
